Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is a father of nation and symbol of non violence and democracy on the planet. It is a matter of pride for us that University Grant Commission has sanctioned Gandhian Studies Center at Department of History, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar during 9th Plan and its Financial Support is extended for organizing various activities on Gandhian thoughts and Gandhian Philosophy. Since 2000, the center has organized various activities related to the aim and objective of the center. The center is the unique in structure of non formal education of university and I am quiet satisfied by the activities of the center for which it is being sanctioned and I wish a grand success to the center for future activities.

I express my heartiest congratulations to Prof. Mehboob Desai, Director of this center and his core team for doing excellent activities on creating awareness and including Gandhian culture amongst the students.
